Responsibilities The Director of Development is a member of the fundraising team and is responsible for generating new and significant financial resources for the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Using best practices and supported by a research and analytics-driven advancement services team, this position will help expand the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of annual and major donors to fund college priorities and designated projects for Belmont University.

Primary position responsibilities:

Build, develop and manage a portfolio of philanthropic relationships at the annual and major gift level ranging from a minimum of $25k to $1M +. Coordinate and implement activities designed to increase prospect, parent, alumni and donor engagement and secure philanthropic gifts in support of the university. In consultation with the seven program directors in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, prepare an annual business plan identifying annual funding initiatives.

In conjunction with the AVP for Development of HS Colleges, be an advisor for fund-raising matters related to college-level advancement i.e. prospect, alumni and parent engagement, overall college fundraising, and advisory board management. Provide general management on behalf of the seven distinct programs within CPHS to bring all available advancement related resources to deliver a comprehensive fundraising plan.

Use metrics to advise actions and strategies, maximizing fundraising effectiveness. Articulate the goals and priorities of the college and the campus through excellent formal and informal communications. Write thoughtful and impactful proposals, impact reports and donor correspondence. Maintain timely, detail and accurate contact reports. Write donor briefings for meetings.

Proactively schedule and meet with program directors to stay current on alumni news and develop strategies for successful donor engagement, cultivation and giving.

Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and basic databases and software.

Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations. Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work.

Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Required Education Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree is preferred.

Required Experience 4-6 years experience in major gift fundraising is required. Major gift fundraising in Higher Ed is preferred.

The selected candidate will be required to complete a background check satisfactory to the University.
