Lead Architect - Customer Identity And Access Management

This Lead Architect is responsible for defining and leading the vision, innovation, and standards for the enterprise's Customer Identity and Access Management (IAM) strategy. This role drives the design of secure, scalable, and user-friendly identity solutions that support business objectives, regulatory compliance, and technology modernization. Strategy & Vision: Lead the definition and execution of the CIAM strategy, roadmap, and reference architecture. Partner with senior leadership to communicate long-term CIAM vision and strategic plans. Continuously evaluate emerging CIAM technologies (e.g., FIDO2, passwordless, adaptive MFA, IDaaS) for enterprise adoption. Architecture & Design: Design and oversee implementation of CIAM solutions, including authentication, SSO, MFA, authorization, identity lifecycle management, and privileged access management. Establish and enforce CIAM architecture principles, standards, and patterns to guide solution design. Partner with enterprise architects and engineering teams to deliver robust, integrated identity solutions across platforms and applications. Collaboration & Leadership: Act as the CIAM subject matter expert and trusted advisor to technical teams and executives. Mentor CIAM engineers and influence cross-functional teams to adopt secure identity practices. Collaborate with security, DevOps, and compliance teams to embed CIAM into application development and cloud architectures. Governance & Compliance: Ensure CIAM architecture complies with industry standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, SOX, PCI, NIST). Assist with defining policies for access governance, RBAC/ABAC, and certification processes. Education/Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science) and requires 5 7 years of related experience. Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position. Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with IAM/CIAM technologies leveraging Ping Identity, including Ping Federate, Ping Access, Ping Directory, PingOne MFA, PingOne Risk, and PingOne Davinci. Strong knowledge of modern authentication and authorization protocols: OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, Kerberos, LDAP. Familiarity with Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS), cloud IAM (AWS, Azure, GCP), and API-based integrations. Experience embedding IAM controls into cloud-native and DevSecOps practices, and web and mobile applications. Familiarity with SEIM (e.g. Splunk) and platform monitoring tools.
