Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: IR Technologist Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-hour days with call Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: State license required Certifications: BLS, ARRT (R), IV certification preferred Must-Have: Experience in Interventional Radiology procedures Ability to scrub in and circulate Experience with neuro IR, vascular procedures, and working in a hybrid OR preferred Description: The department operates three rooms, including two biplane and one single plane. One room is always kept open for stroke procedures. The technologists will be involved in all IR procedures and service neuro IR, vascular, and neuro surgeons. The average number of cases ranges from 10 to 20 per day, with stroke cases varying from 1 to 4 per week. There are two IR technologists assigned per room. Technologists will be required to be on the call team, with 1 to 2 weeknight calls per week. Weeknight call is from 6 PM to 7 AM, and weekends will require being on call one weekend per month. The team has a total of four neuro radiologists and two neuro surgeons, as well as three vascular surgeons in-house during the day. The call response time is 30 minutes. Scrubs will be provided as part of the dress code. Training will include departmental modules on education, safety, and infection control. A preceptor will be assigned for the first week of the assignment. The hospital has a cancellation policy allowing for up to four shifts to be canceled per 13-week assignment.
