Job Title: Cath Lab Tech Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: Cath Lab Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (07:30 - 16:00) Experience: 2 years minimum experience required License: NC or Compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, ARRT or RCIS Must-Have: MUST HAVE interventional radiology experience, as 90% of the work is in this area. Experience in scrub and circulate roles in both IR and cardiology procedures is essential. Current certifications in ACLS and BLS required. ARRT or RCIS certification is required. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed. Any call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation. No holiday RTO for this role. Techs start directly in the unit on Mondays until they have completed their training. The unit will accept contracts of 13 to 20 weeks. The shift consists of 8-hour days from 07:30 to 16:00. Call requirements include being available during the week from 16:00 to 07:30 the next morning. Weekend call is from Friday at 16:00 until Monday at 07:30. Expect to work urgent and emergent cardiology and interventional radiology procedures. Callback time is 30 minutes for STEMIs, while the IR callback time is determined by the type of procedure. The call team consists of three staff members, including at least one RN. There are no float requirements for this role. Weekend requirement is every third weekend. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Patient diagnoses primarily involve vice implants such as PPM and ICD. This is a combination lab with approximately an 80% to 10% split, with IR procedures being the majority. The role involves assisting providers while performing diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology procedures. Medication administration is performed only by RNs. Candidates will utilize various specialized equipment during procedures. Candidates must be flexible to float within the facility based on need.
