Job Description
The Town of Hingham is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Transfer Station division of the Department of Public Works. This position is responsible for performing semi-skilled manual work in operating heavy equipment used in the construction, maintenance and repair of public works projects or facilities.
Hours: Regular full time, 40 hour workweek, Thursday through Sunday
Salary: $27.5389 per hour
Duties: Work includes the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment and vehicles with a rated capacity of more than 26,000 lbs. G.V.W.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience or advanced training in the operation of light equipment
- A valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement and 1C - 2A Hoisting License
- Skill in operating vehicles and equipment
- Ability to lift 40 plus lbs.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- Ability to follow oral instructions related to work assignments
