LHH is assisting with a search for an Accounting Manager for a client in Kansas City, MO. We are looking for someone to work on-site with pay starting at $75k and going up based on experience. Our ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of Accounting experience within the Construction industry. Read below for additional details!
Role and Responsibilities
- Supervise accounts payable staff in daily activities.
- Perform detailed review of accounts payable invoices and credit card receipts after input by accounting staff.
- Review accounts payable statements after reconciliation is completed by accounting staff each month.
- Reconcile bank statements and make monthly accounting entries.
- Monitor the administrative email inbox, print out all vendor invoices, subcontractor payment applications, and statements for accounts payable.
- Follow up on all other emails in the administrative inbox and forward to the appropriate recipient.
- Complete credit applications.
- Prepare monthly job cost summaries for the CFO.
- Assist the CFO with the monthly preparation of contract schedules, as assigned.
- Perform journal entries and general accounting tasks as needed.
- Assist the CFO with special tasks as assigned.
- Train new accounting staff.
- Provide backup support for accounts payable, payroll manager, and staff accountant as necessary (e.g., during vacation or sick leave).
- Prepare workpapers and other documentation for the annual audit, as assigned by the CFO, and respond to auditor requests.
- Attend required meetings.
- File and keep all records organized.
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals.
- Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail, multi-tasking, and communication abilities.
- Extensive computer knowledge and experience with Excel, Word, and relevant accounting software.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Experience within the Construction industry.
