LHH is partnering with a reputable law firm to find an experienced Litigation Secretary to support their civil litigation defense team in San Jose, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation support, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage complex case documentation and deadlines.
Position Type: Full-Time, Contract to Hire, Onsite
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys in all phases of litigation
- Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents including pleadings, motions, and correspondence
- Maintain and organize case files, calendars, and deadlines
- Coordinate e-filing in both state and federal courts
- Schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances
- Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel
- Assist with trial preparation including exhibit binders and witness coordination
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a litigation secretary in a civil litigation law firm
- Proficiency in legal terminology, court procedures, and document formatting
- Strong knowledge of California state and federal court e-filing procedures
- Excellent typing, proofreading, and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines
