Compensation Range: $18.75 - $25.44

Responsibilities:
Provides clerical, receptionist and customer service on patient care units while maintaining confidentiality.

  • Transcription of patient care orders.
  • Schedules tests and procedures with other departments.
  • Obtains patient care equipment and/or supplies as requested by nurses and/or physicians.
  • Participates in patient admissions, discharges and transfers, according to unit requirements.
  • Greets and receives visitors and staff in a professional manner, giving appropriate directions and guidance.
  • Maintains record of patient location when off unit.
  • Communicates and works effectively with other departments on patient, staff and unit related matters.
  • Orders supplies/forms, assures their arrival and restocks appropriately.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work environment.
  • Provides assistance on other units as necessary.
  • Assists with patient transport as needed.

Qualifications:
High school education and 1 year of clerical experience, with demonstrated legible writing and verbal communication skills; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills preferred.
