Manufacturing Technician / Machinist
Pay Rate: $34-$40/hr
shift time: 07:00 am - 15:30 pm M-F - with overtime and weekend hours as needed

**MGR needs experience with Lathes, Manual machining, CNC machining** - Computerized machining does not apply towards this role

"Responsibilities:
• Assist with transition from development to production
• Manufacture, assemble, and test mechanical,according to written procedures and engineering models, drawings, specifications and written
procedures
• Interface with production leads, supervisors, manager and QA inspection to ensure timely customer
delivery
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct discrepancies by modification, rework, repair, and/or
maintenance. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
• Setup and operate precision calibrated tools including but limited to, Lathe, gauges, etc.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency
• Perform routine lathe, equipment maintenance and functions such as daily clean-up of work areas
• Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to achieving organizational success
• Basic mathematics skills
• High School diploma or GED
• 3-5 years direct experience in industrial manufacturing, integration, or other relevant field
• Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced
dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities
• Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instruction
• Hand dexterity required to assemble small mechanical components
• Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Perform repetitive work including lifting of heavy items up to 44 lbs.
• Work off-shift, extended hours overtime, and weekends if/when necessary
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully
admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired
• Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field
• Experienced in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment
• Experience with manual lathe machining
• 07:00 - 15:30 with overtime and weekend hours as needed "The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for performing technical duties in one of the functional areas: electronic, mechanical or systems. The Manufacturing Technician complete tests, measurements, operations and process controls. * Perform technical duties on functional work group projects. * Employ test techniques and procedures for key cell projects. * Use job packets, routings, work orders, wire lists, quality travelers and bills of material. * Maintain production tools and equipment. * Perform troubleshooting to diagnose product, process or program defects and repair them. * Ensure ability to: read blueprints; identify components; perform wire preparation, stripping and crimping; perform harness repair and termination; use pertinent manual hand tools. Maintain skills in electronics, hydraulics and mechanical assemblies, automated machine operation and programming. * Use the guiding principles and tools of the Manufacturing System to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform electrical and electronics testing on complex systems.
• Support mechanical and hydraulic assemblies as part of the testing process.
• Troubleshoot and operate complex electrical test setups.
• Work independently on testing and qualification of assemblies from start to finish.
• Participate in low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing processes.

Length of Assignment
• Duration: 12 months.
• Extension/Conversion: Possible extension or conversion to full-time based on performance and business needs.

Work Environment
• Location: 110 Gillingham Ln, Sugar Land, TX.
• Setting: Shop floor/manufacturing environment.
• Dress Code: Casual with required PPE (FR/non-FR coveralls, safety glasses, safety boots).

Team Structure
• Team Size: ~25 people across 3 locations; ~15 at the primary site.
• Collaboration: Close-knit team; initial collaboration during training, then independent work.

Training
• On-the-job training provided.
• Post-training, technician is expected to work independently on test setups.

Interview Process
• Format: Face-to-face interviews.
• Duration: 45 minutes to 1 hour.
• Structure:
o Review of qualifications.
o Technical and situational questions.
o HR-style behavioral questions.

Education/Certifications
• Preferred, not required:
o Associate's degree in a relevant field.
o Industry certifications (IPC-610, IPC-620, J-STD-001, Lean Six Sigma)

Required Years of Experience
• Minimum Experience: 1+ year in a similar role.
