Base pay range

$80,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr

Manufacturing Process Engineer

Location: Manchester, CT

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00/7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Compensation: $80,000 – $110,000 DOE

LM Gill Welding is a 55+ year supplier to the defense and shipbuilding industry. As a growing, 33-person team, we support Department of Defense (DOD) programs with high-precision machining and fabrication. Due to increased DOD investment, we are expanding and seeking talented professionals to join our team.

Role Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining efficient, cost-effective, and safe manufacturing processes. This role involves supporting machining and fabrication of complex parts and assemblies, collaborating across engineering, programming, and production teams, and ensuring quality standards are met for defense programs.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret customer requirements and develop manufacturing plans for parts and assemblies
  • Create and maintain revision-controlled engineering documents and process traveler/routing sheets
  • Provide manufacturing support using SolidWorks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing challenges in collaboration with internal teams, vendors, and customers
  • Support internal quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required (ITAR compliance)
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and ERP systems (Epicor or similar)
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Understanding of machining processes, weldments, forgings, and castings
  • Experience with NDT methods (VT, LP, RT, UT)
  • Familiarity with ISO/AS quality systems
