Summary: Responsible for selecting the best quality products for online shoppers and accurately selecting groceries ordered online by customers.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner in the designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• Makes an effort to learn customers’ names and address them by name whenever possible.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading or unloading heavy items, noting and passing along customer suggestions or requests, and performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
• Answers telephone and emails promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call.
• Accurately selects groceries ordered online by customers and selects highest quality produce, meat, and other fresh products; selects, scans, and bags items from all temperature zones.
• Adheres to company policies and store guidelines.
• Reports to work as scheduled and on time.

Secondary Duties And Responsibilities

• Tenders customer orders through POS and processes payment.
• Stores gathered orders at proper temperature and retrieves them prior to customer arrival.
• Ensures products maintain proper temperature throughout the process.
• Prepares orders for pickup, carts to and places in holding area, and assists with loading groceries into customer vehicles.
• Continually monitors incoming online orders to ensure prompt fulfillment.
• Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Education And Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Visual requirements include the ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.
• Must be physically able to perform medium work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects up to 50 pounds; frequent standing, walking, and lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, reach, handle, grasp, feel, talk, hear and perform repetitive motions.

Working Conditions

Most duties are performed in a retail store setting and may involve exposure to dust, noise, and temperature extremes. Possible hazards from moving equipment and electrical shock. Fast-paced environment with deadlines.

Equipment Used

Pallet jack, box cutter, cash registers, trash compactor, forklift, calculator, telephone, intercom, cardboard compactor, copier, fax (within wage and hour guidelines).

Contacts

Daily contact with store personnel, customers, and the general public.

Compensation and Benefits
