Job Title: Aisles Online Shopper

Department: Aisles Online

FLSA: Non-Exempt

General Function: Responsible for selecting the best products for online shoppers and accurately selecting groceries ordered online by customers.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner and learns customers’ names when possible.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading or unloading heavy items, noting and relaying customer suggestions or requests, and performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
• Answers telephone and email inquiries promptly with friendly, helpful service.
• Accurately selects groceries ordered online by customers and selects/highlights quality produce, meat, and other fresh products; scans and bags items from all temperature zones.
• Adheres to company policies and store guidelines and reports to work as scheduled and on time.

Secondary Duties And Responsibilities

• Tenders customer orders through POS and processes payments including credit cards.
• Gathers orders, stores them at proper temperatures, and retrieves them prior to customer pickup; ensures products maintain proper temperature throughout the process.
• Prepares orders for pickup and assists in loading groceries into customer vehicles as needed.
• Monitors incoming online orders to ensure prompt, on-time fulfillment.
• Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Education And Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Visual requirements include the ability to see details at near range with or without correction.
• Must be physically able to perform medium work: occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds and frequent standing, walking, and lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, reach, handle, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.

Working Conditions

• Retail store setting with potential exposure to dust, noise, and temperature extremes.
• Potential hazards from moving equipment and electrical shock; fast-paced environment with deadlines and multiple projects.

Equipment Used

Pallet jack, box cutter, cash registers, trash compactor, forklift, calculator, telephone, intercom, cardboard compactor, copier, fax (within wage and hour guidelines).

Contacts

Daily contact with store personnel, customers, and the general public.

Additional Information

Daytime shifts; this position involves online shopping operations within a Hy-Vee store.
