Journeyman Electrician

Location: Allen County War Memorial Coliseum - 4000 Parnell Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN

Join the team that keeps one of Northeast Indiana's largest and busiest facilities running. The Allen County War Memorial Coliseum hosts hundreds of events each year, from concerts and hockey games to conventions and community gatherings. As a Journeyman Electrician, you'll play a critical role in making those events possible by ensuring the building's electrical, telecommunications, and A/V systems operate safely and efficiently.

What You'll Do:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, lighting, data/phone lines, fiber optics, and event-related A/V systems.
  • Support large-scale events by setting up and maintaining electrical and A/V equipment.
  • Maintain emergency systems, including generators, fire alarms, UPS units, and security systems.
  • Assist with heating/cooling controls, snow removal, and general facility maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, fire, and electrical codes.
What We're Looking For:
  • High School Diploma or GED plus completion of an electrical apprenticeship program.
  • At least five (5) years of electrician experience.
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician License (Master Electrician License preferred).
  • Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and electrical testing equipment.
  • Ability to work independently, troubleshoot problems quickly, and support both daily operations and major events.
  • Flexibility to work some nights, weekends, and on-call shifts.
