Join the McCausland College of Arts and Sciences at the University of South Carolina as a Human Resources Consultant. This position provides strategic and comprehensive operational human resources support across the college, ensuring continuity of HR operations and managing day-to-day HR functions for the Office of the Dean.

The HR Consultant will serve as the primary point of contact for HR-related inquiries, manage the college-wide Employee Performance Management System (EPMS) review process, and provide expert guidance on HR policies, procedures, and compliance. The position also serves as the College’s I-9 Administrator, TL/ABS approver, Tuition Assistance Coordinator, and HR representative on search committees.

The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of human resources principles and practices, including recruitment, classification, performance management, and organizational development. They must be able to interpret and apply federal, state, and university HR policies and procedures with a high degree of accuracy and consistency, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and comprehensive operational human resources support across the McCausland College of Arts and Sciences
  • Manage day-to-day HR functions for the Office of the Dean

Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education HR preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of human resources principles and practices
  • Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and university HR policies and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
