Position Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist, reporting directly to the Manager of HR Operations, is responsible for facilitating a broad range of HR functions, ensuring compliance, and supporting employees and managers across the organization. This role plays a critical part in delivering effective HR services by partnering with leaders and employees on HR policies and compliance matters. The Generalist manages complex HR processes, including leaves of absence and unemployment claims, while also providing cross-functional backup support to other HR teams to ensure continuity and consistency in HR operations.

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws by monitoring regulatory updates and assisting with policy and process adjustments as needed.
- Partner with HR Coordinators to maintain accurate HRIS records, serving as an escalation point for audits, data integrity issues, and compliance reviews.
- Provide cross-functional backup support to HR specialty teams (e.g., Workers’ Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Benefits) to ensure seamless HR service delivery during absences, peak periods, or special projects.
- Facilitate the administration of employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, state-specific paid leave, and company leave programs; ensure compliance with documentation and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the management of unemployment claims, including preparing responses, gathering documentation, and representing the company during agency inquiries and hearings, if necessary.
- Generate, analyze, and interpret HR data and reports (e.g., leave utilization, turnover trends) to support leadership decision-making.
- Support HR-related due diligence during acquisitions, including compliance reviews, employee data analysis, and integration planning.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of HR training, communication, and resources to ensure managers and employees understand HR policies and processes.
- Foster strong working relationships and ongoing communication across all business units and departments.
- Assist with benefits enrollment and changes and address any related employee inquiries.
- Collaborate with IT, Accounting/Finance, and other HR teams to support the implementation and upgrades of the HRIS system, ensuring data integrity and user training.
- Ability to remain flexible and adaptable within a growing and evolving team environment, adjusting to changing priorities and organizational needs.

Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Two to five (2-5) years of HR experience, with exposure to multiple HR functions (benefits, payroll, compliance, leave administration, etc.) is required.
- Proficiency in HR software and data analysis tools is required. Experience with Paylocity is a plus.
- Experience in senior living, construction, home health, hospice, and/or pharmacy is a plus.
- Active certification from SHRM or HRCI is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.

- This position is required to work onsite at the St. Louis Dover Companies headquarters.
- While travel for this role is not anticipated, there may be situations that arise that require this role to travel to an offsite company location. Anticipated potential travel does not exceed 10% of the annual work of this position.
