Sr. Director - Creative Strategy
to lead creative for a portfolio of eight consumer brands in the fast-moving, highly competitive prepaid wireless market. Reporting directly to the Verizon Value VP of Marketing / CMO, you will be the creative thought leader, guiding top-tier external agencies while providing hands-on direction to a small internal team. Scope: Providing strategic direction to external agencies to deliver big, breakthrough campaigns Delivering fast-turn creative through a dedicated rapid-response team Building compelling social content for each brand Guiding in-store design work for major retail partners like Walmart and Best Buy You will lead work backed by a significant media budget, seen by millions of people, and displayed in tens of thousands of physical stores. What You'll Be Doing : Define Creative Vision: Set the creative vision and tone for each brand across all paid, earned, owned, and social channels Drive Agency Strategy: Select the right external partners, manage their output, and evolve how we engage with external talent Creative Direction: Direct multiple agencies and an internal team to deliver conceptually bold, on-brief, and business-driving creative Build and Mentor: Build, mentor, and lead an internal rapid-creative team for quick-turn and reactive content Champion Excellence: Ensure all creative work aligns with core brand strategy and campaign objectives, championing design excellence and conceptual consistency Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with Brand Marketing leads, Media, and Insights to ensure performance accountability Executive Presence: Present creative ideas and campaigns to senior leadership, including at the President and SVP levels What We're Looking For : 10+ years of creative leadership experience across brand, digital, and content Experience working in both in-house (corporate) and agency environments is a must A degree in design or art direction with a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional visual storytelling Demonstrated experience using AI for design, concepting, or content generation A track record of directing external agencies and internal teams toward strategically sound, creatively ambitious output Experience leading major brand campaigns as well as fast-paced, quick-turn creative deliverables Deep experience with social-first creative across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Proven ability to manage a diverse brand portfolio and adapt creative strategies across multiple brand identities A resourceful, scrappy mindset that drives great work even in ambiguous or fast-changing conditions Experience building an internal creative team from the ground up Even Better If You Have : Experience working with challenger brands or value-focused portfolios Experience in a highly competitive, dynamic industry Verizon is an equal opportunity employer.
