Job Description Audit Project Manager – WCIBO

U.S. Bancorp Corporate Audit Services (CAS) is seeking a strong candidate to join our team within the Digital, Technology and Operations group. This position will support audit coverage of the Wealth and Corporate Banking Operations business line. Operations provides direct support to Consumer and Business Banking, Payment Services, and Wealth Management and Investment Services, and centralized support for commercial lending, electronic payments, print, cash and check services, and call center activities.

The CAS Audit Project Manager supervises staff in the completion of audit engagements with minimal supervision from managers (no direct reports). The Audit Project Manager monitors progress against plan and schedule, assesses work performed by the audit engagement team, and provides coaching and on-the-job training to ensure engagements comply with internal audit policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

Supervising audit staff in the completion of audit engagements, ensuring the highest quality work delivered timely. Supervision includes:

Assessing work performed by staff by providing coaching notes relevant to the scope, accuracy and completeness of work performed.

Performing sufficient reviews to ensure work contains relevant facts to support audit scope and conclusions and adhere to internal audit policies and procedures.

Reviewing issues to ensure potential exposures and significance are included, root causes are identified, and actions to address those causes are developed into appropriate recommendations.

2. Completing or assisting managers in planning audit engagements, including identifying and analyzing business processes, risks and controls; interviewing auditees; determining audit scope; evaluating control design; and developing audit programs to guide testing of controls.

3. Assisting managers in reporting and wrap-up phases of audits, including disposition of issues and drafting audit reports.

4. Monitoring progress of audit engagements against plan and schedule; making adjustments and completing work paper reviews timely to ensure issues are identified and dispositioned prior to report draft issuance.

5. Providing on-the-job training for staff, including knowledge of products, services, delivery systems, policies, procedures, laws and regulations, and control frameworks.

6. Collaborating across the three lines of defense regarding processes, risks and controls; coordinating audit activities with other internal audit subject matter teams to ensure effective coverage; managing workload to assist other teams when resources are needed.

7. Expanding use of data analytics by the Operations audit team.

8. Performing other duties as requested by management.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Typically 8 or more years of applicable experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

Considerable knowledge of fiduciary, trust and investment services operations

Knowledge of bank operations, products/services, systems, and related risks/controls

Considerable knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies

Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends impacting bank operations

Strong facilitation, project management, and analytical skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

Business acumen and credibility to help business lines address changing workforce needs

Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office and related software; experience with Archer and TeamMate+

Professional designations or advanced degree (CIA, CISA, CPA, CFIRS, or equivalents)

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location listed first. The actual range may differ by location. Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00
