Regular Minimum Requirements:
Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited doctoral program and APA accredited pre-doctoral internship. Must be licensed to function autonomously in the state of KY. Minimum of 3 years of professional clinical experience, including prior experience in a college or university counseling center. Must be eligible to provide clinical supervision in compliance with licensing board requirements to supervise graduate level student trainees. Position Description
The University of Louisville is seeking to hire an Associate Director, Counseling Center. Reporting to the Director, this position provides direct clinical services to student patients including individual, group, and couples counseling while collaborating and coordinating with HSC partners to ensure service delivery meets student needs. The Associate Director is responsible to supervise the Health Sciences Center (HSC) counselors and case managers, ensuring an appropriate distribution of work and caseloads among all Counseling staff. This position coordinates additional programs and services, develops departmental policies and procedures, and directs outreach programming as necessary or requested by University units or groups concerning mental health topics and issues. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees HSC Counseling Services as a sub-unit of the Counseling Center Directly supervises HSC counselors and case managers Provides direct clinical services to HSC student patients, in-person and via telehealth Provides outreach programming to HSC campus units, ensuring an appropriate workload distribution including urgent consultation services, intakes, outreach events, and caseloads Makes recommendations to the Director regarding clinical policies and procedures for HSC Counseling Service Provides clinical supervision for HSC counselors and case manager Develops and maintains effective relationships with campus partners such as the Disability Resource Center, the Office of Access and Opportunity, the Division of Student Affairs Administration, and the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and Dentistry Ensures all counselors and case managers maintain current, accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations and professional best practices Prepares and analyzes counseling data for program utilization, assessment, and planning Assists various schools, departments, and units with evaluations of high-risk students Participates in campus crisis response following disruptive events or as requested by HSC departments Coordinates care between the HSC Counseling Services, primary care providers, and psychiatric providers as required Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree in social work, psychology, or counseling psychology Seven (7) years of clinical work experience Experience working with patients that have substance abuse issues and trauma Experience working with student populations practicing medicine, nursing, dentistry, and public health Experience executing administrative duties and supervising staff Experience with program development and clinical services evaluation Experience with individuals, couples, and group counseling Experience in making presentations utilizing data to make informed program decisions Excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of federal, state and University regulations, policies, and procedures including FERPA, HIPAA, Title IX, and the UofL Student Code of Conduct Equal Employment Opportunity The University of Louisville is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
