Collaborate with the engineering team to assist in the design and development of thermal management strategies for electric vehicles, including battery cooling, cabin climate control, and powertrain cooling. Collect and analyze data from thermal tests on prototypes and production vehicles, helping to evaluate system performance and reliability. Assist in utilizing thermal simulation tools to model and predict thermal behaviors, ensuring that EV components operate within safe temperature ranges. Maintain detailed records of experiments, findings, and designs, and contribute to the creation of technical documentation. Participate in the testing of thermal control system components such as heat exchangers, pumps, fans, and coolant systems. Work with linear systems analysis, stability, and classic and model-based controller design. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and software developers, to support the integration of thermal control systems into the vehicle architecture. Utilize C/C++, Python, and 1D simulation tool GT Power product. Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 3 years of experience in a Control Engineer, Systems Engineer or Systems Calibration Engineer position in the automotive industry or a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience in a Control Engineer, Systems Engineer or Systems Calibration Engineer position in the automotive industry. Experience must include: working with linear systems analysis, stability, and classic and model based controller design; working on control system development, modeling, and implementation for vehicles; performing and delivering data analysis, query processing to evaluate performance; working with Matlab, Simulink, D-space or SpeedGoat; performing system DFMEA and statistical failure analysis; conducting MIL and HIL testing for validation and utilizing C/C++, Python, and 1D simulation tool GT Power product. Telework permitted within commuting distance to worksite. Salary: $176,000 - $200,000/year.
