Principal Mechanical Engineer - Test Equipment - Onsite Tucson, AZ
Raytheon is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer - Test Equipment to design, develop, document, and maintain complex test environment systems for Raytheon Missile Defense products. This is a 100% onsite role in Tucson, AZ.
What You Will Do Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) is looking for Principal Mechanical Engineers to be responsible for designing, developing, documenting, and maintaining complex test environment systems for all Raytheon effector products. You will be hands-on, design with the latest technology and tools, and integrate state-of-the-art test solutions with advanced engineering systems.
Research, plan, design and develop mechanical test systems in areas including vibration, thermal, hydraulic, radio frequency, and electro-optical for production testing environments
Integrate and validate test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements
Evaluate production installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions
Responsibilities
Design, develop, document, and maintain complex test environment systems for Raytheon effector products
Ensure test systems meet stringent accuracy and reliability requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the engineering lifecycle
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
Minimum of eight (8) years of technical/engineering experience in mechanical design and/or production support
Minimum of five (5) years experience with CAD solid modeling tools and analysis tools (emphasis on ProE/CREO Parametric)
Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) analysis
Experience creating mechanical drawing packages
US Citizen – Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship is required
Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
Qualifications We Value
Design experience with mechanical and electronic packaging
Experience with Configuration Management processes, tools (e.g., Windchill/cPDM)
Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal analysis, structural analysis, control systems, electrical hardware design, or large assembly development
Experience with environmental stress screening of hardware (vibration, shock, thermal, etc.)
Systems engineering experience
Experience with basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching, and process execution
