As the
Systems Administrator (NGSB) , you will act as a model of customer service excellence to all organizational staff members supporting our government customer. You will be responsible for participating with a team of highly qualified professionals and interacting daily with the customer to ensure productivity and resolve IT issues that end-users may encounter with desktops, laptops, software installation issues, and other critical needs. Additionally, you will participate in planning and implementing key IT initiatives during this effort. Although this position resides in
Naval Station Guantanamo Bay (NSGB) , there may be a requirement to travel to the NCR occasionally. Highlights of Responsibilities:
Provide operational and maintenance (O&M) support for NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and JWICS system infrastructure for approximately 400 users. Support for Special Access System infrastructure for approximately 150 users. Support VMware virtualized infrastructure with Microsoft Windows Servers and Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS. Support Printer infrastructure. Develop, implement, manage, and maintain VDI for various client types and server virtualization technologies. Support SQL Database infrastructure. Support customers server and desktop-based software applications. Provide data backup and restoration capabilities for various classified and unclassified networks. Support network file share volume replication via DFS-R between NCR and NSGB. Provide SAN and encrypted file storage support. Create and maintain standalone workstation images per DOD security standards. Perform systems recovery and troubleshooting operations. Additional Responsibilities:
Maintain computer inventory and surplus equipment. Ensure desktop systems interconnect seamlessly with various systems. Implement system upgrades for longevity. Diagnose and repair hardware and network issues. Support desktop system upgrades and maintenance. Assist in testing and deploying new applications and systems. Develop performance metrics and utilize ITIL best practices for service delivery. Participate in implementing an enterprise knowledge base. Coordinate with support teams to resolve incidents and improve services. Escalate issues appropriately. Assist in staff performance assessments and professional development. Requirements:
TOP SECRET w/ SCI Eligible security clearance. Active U.S. Passport. Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills. Effective prioritization and communication skills. Research skills for PC and software issues. Ability to communicate ideas clearly. Self-motivated with attention to detail. Team-oriented in a collaborative environment. Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree or equivalent, including vendor certifications. 7+ years supporting PC hardware and software. Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Linux, VMware vSphere, and SQL Server. Preferred: 5+ years of DOD or IC SysAdmin experience, certifications like DoD 8570 IAT II, MCSA, VCP, ITILv3. Physical Requirements:
