The City of Eustis is seeking a trustworthy, responsible individual who, under direction, performs responsible janitorial work involving the care and maintenance of various municipal buildings. Although the employee works independently and is often physically removed from supervision, duties are performed within the framework of pre-established policies and procedures.

Maintenance Crew Chief/Property Maintenance Supervisor Essential Job Functions
Vacuums and shampoos carpets; Sweeps and mops floors; strips and waxes floors; Dusts, cleans and polishes furniture and woodwork; Cleans windows, doors, walls, tiles, air conditioning vents, etc.; Cleans bathroom toilets and sinks; Replaces paper supplies and soap in restrooms; Empties ash trays and waste baskets; Maintains inventory of cleaning and paper supplies; Prepares and maintains routine records and logs; Requisitions supplies as needed; Inspects, cleans and maintains equipment; Sets up and takes down tables, chairs, platforms, podiums, etc. for banquets or meetings (Parks & Rec Dept.); Moves office furniture and equipment; Trains and oversees work of newly hired Custodians, as required; Locks and unlocks buildings; Delivers supplies; Sets up electronics equipment such as sound systems, etc. for events (Parks & Recreation Dept.); Performs other related duties as required. Other Job Functions: Assists in the preparation and clean up for special events; Assists the City in the preparation for and aftermath of a major emergency such as a hurricane or other storm or disaster, as needed.
Requirements
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Knowledge of the materials, methods and equipment used in janitorial work; knowledge of kitchen maintenance and equipment (Parks & Recreation Dept.); knowledge of special equipment such as electronics equipment and sound systems, etc.
Ability to adhere to prescribed routines and practices; ability to train and oversee the work of others; ability to read and write English; ability to prepare and maintain routine records and logs; ability to operate departmental equipment; ability to drive a vehicle; ability to remain at a city work shelter, before, during and after a hurricane or other storm or disaster, if asked.
Minimum Qualifications: One (1) year janitorial or other similar experience desirable. A demonstrated ability to read and write English is a prerequisite for employment in this position. Other related experience may be considered. Valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record required.
Working Hours: Generally, Tuesday through Saturday, 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. However, due to the nature of the position, employee must have flexible availability. Supplemental Information
Physical Demands: This is moderate to heavy work most of the working time. Requires walking short distances; frequent standing, climbing, stooping, reaching, bending; lifting 50+ pounds, carrying/pushing/pulling 50+ pounds; good finger/hand dexterity and hand/eye coordination; good eyesight, hearing and speech; working in adverse environmental conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.) periodically; regular driving.
Salary Information: $16.6826 to $23.64 per hour ($34,699.85 - $49,171.21 per year); EXCELLENT benefits (Note: See Benefits Tab for more information).

Sick Leave: Sick leave is earned at the rate of eight (8) hours per month of employment, not to exceed 96 hours (12 days) per year.
