Travel to East and South locations is not anticipated, with occasional exceptions. Healthcare experience, particularly in imaging, radiology, and surgical spaces, is beneficial. Ideal candidate will have healthcare architecture experience and familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit. This is a hybrid role with onsite work on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, though this schedule may change. The role manages and coordinates architectural planning work, including the development of conceptual designs, programming, and code analysis for healthcare and workplace environments for small to mid-sized projects. It also involves producing design drawings up through construction documents for applicable projects. Responsibilities
Assess space-related issues and needs. Develop alternatives for review and approval and anticipate outcomes of each option. Communicate proposed space solutions and related phasing to Administrative and PM staff. Proposals are reviewed, critiqued, approved and prioritized by Director. Manage the development of professional design consultant services for small and mid-sized projects. Direct, coordinate and review designs, plans, and construction bid documents. Collaborate with internal client teams and leadership to develop concepts and lead the team to final conceptual design approval. Occasionally produce design drawings from conceptual to construction documents for building and improvement projects. Develop architectural design documents using CAD and Revit as appropriate for space programs, preliminary plans, and outline specifications of materials and equipment. Create full-detail drawings for architectural permitting. Prepare alternate design schemes, project phasing, records and reports for renovations or new construction. Develop technical drawings (CAD and Revit). Ability to field measure areas and create as-built drawings to evaluate requests. Serve as architectural consultant to all departments regarding planning, design and construction of renovations and additions. Provide input on feasibility of initiating construction projects. Communicate and collaborate with project team members, clients, design staff, project managers, contractors and service departments to ensure coordination. Act as liaison to design firms and contractors on small and mid-sized renovation and construction projects. Manage construction administration as owners representative, respond to RFIs, shop drawings, and agency review comments. Review subcontractor shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contracts. Collaborate with Project Managers to manage budgeting and scheduling. Manage architectural and engineering consultants to create and implement design plans. Review and approve consultant work for quality control. Maintain knowledge of regulatory codes and provide technical expertise related to NFPA, FGI, and Michigan state codes. Perform assignments as directed. Maintain effective working relationships, contribute to a safe work environment, and adhere to safety policies and practices.
Qualifications
Required Bachelor's degree in architecture or design or equivalent education/experience 3 years of relevant experience in healthcare planning and design Michigan Drivers License Preferred Architect license - State of Michigan Healthcare experience, particularly in imaging, radiology, and surgical spaces Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
