Responsibilities Job Summary The Network Engineer III researches, develops, tests, analyzes, and documents WAN and LAN infrastructure. This role performs routine operational tasks, maintenance, project work, installation, and support duties. It also involves mentoring, training, and participating in an on-call rotation to support incidents, upgrades, patches, and project tasks. Essential Functions Researches, develops, tests, analyzes, and documents WAN and LAN infrastructure, including switches, routers, DHCP, DNS, NTP, and wireless networks. Performs maintenance, management, baseline setup, planning, patches, and updates. Designs system configurations, directs installations, and implements standards to improve system resilience and performance. Monitors network performance, troubleshoots outages, and collaborates with architects and developers to optimize the network. Investigates network faults, enforces security policies, and supports firewall environments to secure traffic and reduce risks. Uses communication skills to identify and address customer needs, building positive relationships with staff, physicians, patients, and other stakeholders. Prioritizes and responds promptly to issues based on severity. Recognizes opportunities for service recovery and acts to resolve issues proactively. Demonstrates commitment to HonorHealth’s tenets of service excellence in daily interactions. Maintains a professional appearance and work environment. Completes IT governance and project assignments to meet milestones. Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field – Preferred Or 4 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree – Required Experience At least 6 years of experience in designing, deploying, maintaining, and diagnosing network infrastructure including switches, routers, DHCP, DNS, NTP, wireless, firewalls, WAN, IP voice, and fiber/copper cabling. Skills may be verified through Q&A and lab exercises – Required 8 years of network design, implementation, management, and healthcare experience is preferred, including large-scale system development and interoperability solutions. Licenses and Certifications Preferred certifications include Cisco CCNP, CCDP, CCDE, CCIE, CCAr; Citrix CCA, CCP, CCE; F5 certifications; Infoblox CINA, CICA, CICE, CIST; ISC2 CAP, CCFP, CCSP, CISSP; Palo Alto ACE, PCNSE; Aruba certifications, among others.
