Position Overview:
The Outage Planner/Scheduler is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining safe and efficient outage plans to support major maintenance events and turnarounds. As a critical individual contributor, this role ensures that all activities are properly scoped, resourced, and scheduled to minimize downtime and maximize operational reliability.
Role Description:
Develop and maintain outage schedules, including tasks, resources, and timelines, aligned with production and maintenance priorities
Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to gather scope, technical requirements, and resource needs.
Identify and plan for required parts, tools, labor, permits, and safety measures.
Monitor progress against schedule and provide updates, adjustments, and reports to stakeholders.
Ensure all outage activities comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Support field execution teams during outages by providing schedule updates, problem resolution, and coordination support.
Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of outage planning practices.
Work weekends and extended hours during outage events as required.
Requirements:
Technical degree in Mechanics or related field. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance, or related field preferred.
Familiarity with CMMS and scheduling tools desirable (Primavera, Microsoft Project, or equivalent).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and OEM manuals.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Safety-focused, proactive, and detail-oriented.
Flexible and resilient, with the ability to work extended hours during outage events.
