Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an ABSN Track Admissions Specialist. The Accelerated BSN (ABSN) Track Admissions Specialist plays a key role in supporting prospective students through the advising and admissions preparation process for the Department of Nursing's ABSN track. This position provides high-quality, student-centered assistance by reviewing academic transcripts, guiding students through prerequisite requirements, and facilitating clear communication between prospective students and the department. The ABSN Admissions Specialist also collaborates with other academic departments as needed.

Responsibilities

Advise prospective ABSN students on track requirements, curriculum, and admissions processes. Conduct transcript reviews to evaluate fulfillment of prerequisite coursework. Provide clear and timely communication regarding necessary prerequisites and the next steps for eligibility Answer inquiries from students via email, phone, or in-person meetings. Guide students to appropriate university departments (e.g., Registrar, Financial Aid, Admissions) when needed. Maintain accurate and updated advising records. Collaborate with Nursing faculty and staff to ensure accurate information is shared with prospective students. Assist with development and maintenance of program materials, FAQs, and student resources. Participate in recruitment and outreach events (virtual and in-person) to promote the ABSN program. Assist with other administrative duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to interpret transcripts and explain academic requirements clearly. Proficiency in operating a variety of office equipment (e.g., computer, copier, scanner) and proficiency with Microsoft suite applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams). Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required. At least 2 years' experience in an administrative position. Preferred Qualifications

Degree in Communication, Healthcare, Counseling. Experience in academic advising, student services, or admissions. Proposed Salary

Standard hiring range: $19.72 - $21.69
