Description
Managing paperwork and information flow to Shipping and Receiving personnel. Verification of information and documentation provided by drivers. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology. Issue proper documentation to all needed work centers. Assist in preparing order processes for delivery to customers / subcontracted services. Work with Production & Shipping personnel on processing work within delivery requirements and provide feedback. Meet safety and quality system requirements by following established procedures. Assist with ensuring all orders are prepared per instructions on work orders. Ensuring traceability requirements are met for all orders. Meeting and communicating all requirements and updates. Process work within performance and delivery timeline requirements. Follow communicated job priority instructions. Ensure posting of outbound deliveries using pre-designated software. Communicate shipping & receiving delays and problems to appropriate stakeholders. Support the Shipping & Receiving/ Production team to achieve goals and objectives. Participate in team and company meetings. Assist the Shipping team with promptly loading and unloading trucks and deliveries as well as sorting and stocking receivables. Ensure all required labels and product information are visible and legible on each pallet or shipment. Tracks, traces and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments. Maintains an accurate log of daily moves, scanning inventory and counting accurately. Responsible for ensuring that pick-ups by the carrier specified on the customer's purchase order which is conveyed to Customer Service/ Shipping Clerk by final inspection via the shipping instructions Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor Collaborates and communicates with logistics, customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products. Maintains a clean, neat, and member-ready area. Engage with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude. Provides additional backup support for the Shipping and Receiving department. Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 1 year experience in shipping & receiving Minimum two (2) years of work experience in chemical industry preferred Minimum one (1) year of experience working with bulk, totes, drums and packaged goods for a Shipping & Receiving Department, within a chemical plant preferred. Experience with DOT HAZMAT, shipping & receiving preferred Bilingual (preferred) Organizational ability. Customer service skills. Able to relate well to all internal and external customers. Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
