Overview: The Senior Buyer is a strategic procurement professional responsible for managing the sourcing and purchasing of key materials, components, and services required for the manufacturing and development of Valencias medical devices. This role requires deep supply chain knowledge, strong vendor negotiation skills, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The Senior Buyer will play a critical role in supplier relationship management, cost reduction initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration to support production, quality, and new product development. Responsibilities: Lead sourcing and procurement activities for critical parts, components, and services, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective purchasing. Develop and manage supplier relationships to ensure consistent quality, reliability, and compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, and GMP requirements. Analyze material requirements planning (MRP) outputs and proactively manage inventory levels to support production schedules. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to drive savings and value. Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Regulatory teams to evaluate and qualify suppliers and ensure compliance with product and documentation requirements. Support new product development (NPD) by sourcing prototype and production components, managing supplier timelines, and coordinating with project teams. Identify and implement process improvements in procurement and supply chain operations. Maintain accurate records in ERP systems and support audits as needed. Monitor market trends, lead times, and risks to anticipate supply challenges and develop contingency plans. Required Skills: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field 5-8+ years of

purchasing/procurement experience in the medical device or other regulated manufacturing industry Strong knowledge of

FDA regulations, ISO 13485, GMP,

and supplier quality assurance requirements Proven experience with

ERP/MRP systems (e.g., QAD, SAP, Oracle) Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail APICS, CPM , or related certification a plus
