About the role

As part of the Private Label Team, the Senior Technical Designer will ensure accurate fit, construction, and technical specifications across swimwear and related categories. With a strong swimwear background and experience using AI-driven tools to streamline design workflows, this role manages fittings, creates and maintains tech packs, and partners with vendors to deliver high-quality, well-fitting garments.

This is a hybrid role: 2-3 days a week in our Amesbury, MA office collaborating with the team.

What you'll do

Tech Packs & Specifications

Develop and maintain tech packs, including base size measurements, construction details, and fit comments. Create clear technical illustrations (stitch details, construction, alternate views). Ensure all tech packs are up to date in Centric PLM with accurate comments, measurements, and graded specs. Use AI tools to assist in generating technical flats, measurement tables, or predictive grading adjustments to improve speed and accuracy. Provide precise communication to overseas factories regarding changes and approvals. Fittings & Sample Review

Lead and document fittings, ensuring swimwear maintains consistent fit and quality standards. Evaluate protos, PPS, and TOPs, issuing timely fit comments and updating tech packs. Partner with Production to align fit timelines with delivery schedules. Review and comment on trim, details, and construction quality in samples. Use AI-driven fit analysis tools (e.g., 3D fit simulation, virtual try-on) to identify issues earlier in development. Fit Standards & Swimwear Expertise

Establish fit blocks to maintain consistency of fit across all categories. Ensure proper grading and sizing standards to all categories. Periodically review customer feedback and competitor benchmarks to refine swimwear fits. Manage fit model pool, including booking, rate negotiation, and invoices. AI-Enabled Workflow & Innovation

Leverage AI for technical illustration clean-up, bulk measurement grading, and fit prediction. Use AI-driven trend and customer feedback analysis to identify opportunities for seasonal fit adjustments. Explore and recommend new AI-based tools for improving efficiency in fittings, tech pack creation, and vendor communication. General

Stay current with swimwear and related categories for fit, construction, and materials trends. Maintain timely and professional communication with global vendors. Participate in weekly cross-functional development meetings. Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications

Location: Amesbury, MA (with flexibility to work from home several days a week). 5+ years' experience in technical design with a focus on swimwear. Strong knowledge of swimwear construction, grading, stretch fabric fit, and global size standards. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Centric PLM (or equivalent), Excel, and pattern making software. Familiarity with AI-powered design tools (e.g., 3D garment simulation, generative tech pack support). Clear and effective written and verbal communication. Detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. Ability to travel globally if needed (1x/year).
