Position Summary This position assists in promoting Workforce Development programs to business and industry and to the public, conducts training sessions, recruits students for open enrollment programs, and assists staff in all aspects of the daily operation of the Workforce Development Division. Appropriate placement on Salary Schedule E3 03 ($45,220- $62,710) based on experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assists with developing and implementing partnerships with business and industry to provide supportive training solutions. Effectively markets and conducts outreach to promote educational programs to assist with training and re-training workers. Assists with the development, marketing, and instruction of training programs within the division. Works with division team members to develop innovative training programs that expand the workforce division. Effectively communicates with industry leaders to promote and recruit for non-credit workforce programs. Recruits persons within the community to participate in various non-credit educational programs. Effectively manages assigned grant budgets and adheres to College processing procedures. Works a flexible schedule that may involve travel and includes day, evening, night, and weekend hours. Works collaboratively with college faculty to schedule use of labs and equipment. Remains abreast of current Workforce Development trends. Provides non-credit instruction as needed. Assists with recruiting Subject Matter Experts (SME) to provide non-credit instruction. Assists with gathering data and preparing various reports as directed. Enters data, requisitions, and provide clerical support within the division as needed. Develops and enters requisitions and/or work orders. Assists staff, as needed, with various aspects of daily operation of WIOA, One-Stop Center, and Community Development Center. Serves on appropriate college committees. Other duties as assigned by the department heads: Assistant Dean, Dean, Vice President, or President.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's Degree Two (2) years full-time experience in workforce development or economic development Work or training experience in a health-care field OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to represent the College in a professional manner in responding to ACCS System Office employees, Business/Education executives, college personnel, students, and the public; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; Ability to take initiative, handle multiple priorities, and complete various projects within designated deadlines; Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing; Ability to apply computer skills in systems and software programs associated with the work; Ability to provide excellent customer service with a focus on being friendly and patient in all dealings with personnel, students and the public. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

General office environment with the ability to sit and navigate multi-campuses for prolonged periods. Ability to travel independently; ability to traverse campuses

Sick Leave All regular full-time non-instructional staff earns one day of sick leave which is the equivalent of 8 hours of sick leave per month. Unused sick leave is rolled over to the following year. Upon retirement, employees are allowed to convert unused sick time into service time for the purpose of retirement. Annual Leave All regular full-time non-instructional staff earn annual leave per month. A complete description of leave benefits can be found with the Human Resources office. 0-4 years 8 hours per month 5-9 years 10 hours per month 10-14 years 12 hours per month 15-19 years 14 hours per month 20+ 16 hours per month (may accumulate up to 480 hours)

Personal Leave All regular full-time non-instructional staff earns up to two (2) regularly scheduled workdays of personal leave per leave year. Unused Personal Leave converts to sick leave if not used. (converts to sick leave at the end of August each year if not used)

Professional Leave Up to 10 days a year of professional development leave with pay may be granted by the President.

Retirement The TRS was established in 1939 to provide benefits to qualified persons employed by state-supported educational institutions. Tuition Assistance This tuition waiver program is designed for all full-time instructional and non-instructional employees of The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education and their dependents as defined under by policy. The program will be coordinated by each institution for employees within The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education.
