The Rosebud Indian Reservation has large areas of Ponderosa Pine forest scattered in its grasslands; and deep valleys are defined by steep hills and ravines, often with lakes dotting the deeper valleys. It's 922,759 acres include 20 communities. The tribal headquarters is located in the community of Rosebud. The Rosebud Sioux Tribe, more properly known as Sicangu Lakota Oyate, or Burnt Thigh People, are descendants of the Sicangu Oyate people of the Teonwan Division of the Oceti Sakowin or Seven Council Fires. Historically, they were warriors and hunters and expert horsemen. Native plants and wildlife were very important to the Sicangu people and continue to be today.

About the Facility - Rosebud Hospital (RBH) As a 35-bed comprehensive medical/surgical hospital located in Rosebud, South Dakota, it has an active obstetric and pediatric department. The Rosebud HIS Hospital offers a full range of services, including dental, vision, and 24-hour ambulance services. The hospital and several field clinics are staffed by physicians, nurse/midwives, and physician assistants. An optical department and dental care are also offered. The hospital is the primary source of healthcare for the Rosebud Sioux people, who reside across 20 communities, some of which lie outside the boundaries of the reservation.

The Medical Support Assistant is responsible for maintaining and monitoring patient appointment schedules for the facility. Communicates any delays in scheduled appointments to the appropriate staff and patients. The Medical Support Assistant is responsible for re-scheduling, canceling, processing no-shows, and sending recall reminders. Do administrative notes using various automation systems and programs to accomplish work, such as text editing, and maintain and retrieve information using messaging, including email. Enters and retrieves information and data from the Clinical Information System. They also complete consult requests through the advice of the physician, utilizing the Computerized Patient Record System. When necessary, they refer eligibility enrollment and means test to the appropriate area. The Medical Support Assistant ensures that patients are scheduled according to the provider's orders. Medical Support Assistant: REQUIREMENTS
Education: A minimum of a High School Diploma. Experience: At least one year's worth of vocational training. Certification/Licensure: Must be a Certified Medical Assistant. Working Conditions: The Emergency Physician will work primarily in a hospital setting, with frequent interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. This position may require working irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Emergency Physician may also be required to respond to emergencies and provide on-call support as needed.
