Receiving Associate
Location:

Schedule:
Full-Time | Monday - Friday; 6:00am - 2:30pm
Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour, based on skill sets; Move up the pay scale within your first month of employment
Position Summary
Receiving Associates are responsible for receiving shipments of products, unloading those products from the trucks, and verifying that the shipment(s) received matches what is supplied on the bill of lading or invoice. This team will also support the outbound and inventory control teams as needed. Ideal candidates are reliable, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
Receive and unpack shipments from various vendors and suppliers.
Use a handheld scanner, verify that no discrepancies exist on the bill of lading for incoming shipments.
Route incoming shipments to designated locations within the warehouse.
Reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
Operate various equipment to include hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts in a safe manner and within company guidelines.
Put away large cases or pallets on multi-level warehouse racks.
Assist in managing current and accurate inventory counts.
Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
Communicate concerns, discrepancies, and product information to management team.
Trace lost shipments and/or claims of lost shipments; maintain proof of delivery documents.
Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
Break-down cardboard boxes and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Understand and maintain ongoing knowledge of the company's safety policy and procedures.
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
Ensure all safety procedures are being followed at all times.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred
1-2 years of warehouse experience preferred but not required
Ability to read and understand basic instructions, safety rules, and procedures
Basic math skills to verify quantities and pricing
Strong attention to detail and time management
Self-motivated with the ability to manage changing priorities
Experience with sit-down and stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, or other equipment is a plus
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for long periods and work on concrete surfaces
Must be able to bend, squat, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach as needed
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs (heavier with assistance or equipment)
Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and be alert to surroundings
Work Environment
Warehouse environment with moderate noise, vibration, and dust
May be exposed to varying temperatures and weather conditions
