Position Overview
The Lift Spotter will play a critical role in ensuring safe scissor lift operations across active construction sites. This position acts as the primary visual guide for lift operators in tight or high-traffic areas and helps maintain a safe work environment in accordance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a dedicated spotter for scissor lift operations in congested or high-risk areas
Maintain constant visual contact with the lift operator and surrounding work zones
Communicate clearly using hand signals and/or radios to ensure safe lift movement
Identify hazards, obstacles, or personnel in the lift path and immediately alert the operator
Ensure work zones are properly secured and marked to protect other workers and equipment
Monitor jobsite activities to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the site supervisor or safety personnel
Requirements
Previous construction or equipment spotter experience
Understanding of aerial/scissor lift safety procedures and jobsite hazards
Ability to stay focused and alert during extended observation periods
Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills (hand signals, radios, etc.)
Physically able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift
Must wear all required PPE at all times (hard hat, high-visibility vest, safety boots, etc.)
Qualifications
OSHA 10 or 30 certification
Familiarity with aerial lift operations and equipment
Experience working on active construction sites
