We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HR Generalist & Leave of Absence (LOA) Specialist to manage comprehensive human resources functions, with a critical focus on administering employee leaves and ensuring regulatory compliance across our multi-site property portfolio. This role is essential for maintaining a supportive work environment and safeguarding the company's adherence to all labor laws.

Key Responsibilities

Leave of Absence & Workers' Compensation Management (Focus Area):

LOA Administration: Manage the full lifecycle of all leaves of absence (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, military leave, etc.) from initial request through return-to-work, ensuring timely and accurate documentation. Compliance: Interpret and ensure strict compliance with all federal and state leave laws (FMLA, ADA, PFL, etc.) and company policies. Workers' Comp: Oversee the administration and tracking of all workers' compensation claims, acting as the primary liaison between the employee, management, and the third-party administrator (TPA). Interactive Process: Coordinate and manage the interactive process for reasonable accommodations under the ADA. General HR and Operations Support:

Employee Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance on HR policies, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution. Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist with recruitment efforts, including job posting, screening, interviewing, and facilitating new hire onboarding. HRIS Management: Maintain accurate employee data within the HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and manage confidential employee records. Policy & Compliance: Assist in the development, interpretation, and consistent application of the employee handbook and company policies across all managed properties. Training: Support management training on critical HR topics, including harassment prevention, performance management, and leave administration best practices. Benefits & Payroll Support: Coordinate annual open enrollment, assist with benefits inquiries, and serve as a backup/support for payroll processing. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum of [3+] years of progressive HR experience, with a dedicated focus on administering FMLA/LOA and Workers' Compensation claims. Strong, verifiable knowledge of California and Federal labor laws (FMLA, CFRA, ADA, Title VII, Workers' Comp). Exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proven ability to manage highly confidential information. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear policy guidance to managers and employees. Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, UKG) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). HR Certification (SHRM-CP or PHR) is highly desirable.
