Job Description: Lead Claims Specialist AXIS is looking for a Lead Claims Specialist to join our North America Claims team, reporting directly to the Casualty Claims Manager. This role requires seasoned claims management expertise, particularly in overseeing and managing Third-Party Administrator (TPA) handled claims. While this is primarily focused on casualty claims, experience across multiple lines is advantageous. In this role, you will: Audit Third-Party Administrators to ensure reserves are adequate. Oversee claim files with complex and significant losses as outlined by escalation criteria and claims guidelines. Ensure TPA compliance with reporting requirements through regular auditing and stewardship meetings. Optimize Claim Performance: Guarantee timely and effective claim handling, manage legal and vendor expenses, evaluate exposure, and determine appropriate reserves to achieve optimal resolutions for insureds and AXIS. Identify and implement opportunities to reduce Unallocated Loss Adjustment Expenses (ULAE), monitor counsel, and enhance the use of internal severity and coverage resources. Ensure compliance with best practices as measured by Quality Assurance scores and implement Management Action Plans across all claims groups at AXIS. Cultivate strong relationships with key brokers, Managing General Agents (MGAs), and TPA partners while supporting Underwriting and Distribution. Participate in strategic events/meetings to support underwriting initiatives. Enhance collaboration with internal partners by sharing updates on large losses and trends, ensuring accuracy in claim file data. Work closely with Underwriting, Distribution, and Senior Claim Management to deepen relationships with strategic distribution partners, ensuring delivery of exemplary claim service. Demonstrate 'best-in-class' claim handling behaviors, measured by feedback from internal and external partners. Close claims efficiently to maintain appropriate staffing models and cost-effective operational processes, striving for a closing ratio of at least 100% while ensuring proper claim handling and accurate reserves. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives by providing constructive feedback and volunteering for projects. Utilize analytics tools effectively to enhance claims performance and support data-driven strategies across AXIS. Participate in corporate initiatives related to diversity, inclusion, environment, and philanthropy, as well as support AXIS Employee Resource Groups. Requirements: Bachelor's degree preferred; JD is a plus. If lacking preferred education, a minimum of 5-7 years of adjusting experience, along with coverage and litigation management expertise. Valid licenses by state as required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint. Exceptional writing skills. Demonstrated success in a hybrid work environment. Familiarity with MGA/TPA relationships. Confidence in coverage analysis, evaluation, and reserving. Strong negotiation and settlement skills. Knowledge of General Liability, Construction Defect, Auto, and Garagekeepers Coverage is essential. Role Factors:

Preferred candidates should be able to commute to an AXIS office as we operate a hybrid work environment with three days a week on-site. What We Offer: For this position, the expected base salary ranges from $90,000 to $130,000 in Alpharetta, GA; $95,000 to $140,000 in Chicago, IL; $104,000 to $138,700 in Princeton/Red Bank/Short Hills, NJ; or $108,500 to $145,000 in New York, NY. Salary offers will be determined based on various factors, including the candidate's experience and location.
