Job Description: Senior Claims Specialist AXIS is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist to join our North America Claims team, reporting to the Manager of Casualty Claims. This role requires senior claims management expertise for overseeing and managing TPA handled claims. Primarily a casualty position, multi-line experience is a plus.
What will you do in this role?
Audit Third-Party Administrators to ensure reserve adequacy.
Handle oversight of claim files involving complex and severe losses.
Ensure TPA compliance through regular audits and meetings.
Manage claim performance, legal and vendor expenses, exposure evaluations, and reserving to drive optimal resolutions.
Identify opportunities to reduce ULAE spend and enhance internal resources.
Ensure compliance and quality assurance through audits and management action plans.
Develop strong relationships with broker, MGA, and TPA partners; support underwriting and distribution.
Support underwriting with claims participation at key events.
Collaborate internally to share loss and trend updates, ensuring data accuracy.
Drive deeper relationships with distribution partners and deliver top-tier claim service.
Exhibit best-in-class claim handling behaviors and close files efficiently.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Enhance analytics utilization to improve claims performance and support data strategies.
Support diversity, inclusion, environment, and philanthropy initiatives.
What you need to have:
Bachelor’s degree preferred; JD a plus. Alternatively, 5-7 years of adjusting, coverage, and litigation management experience.
Valid state licenses as required.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent writing skills.
Experience working in a hybrid environment.
Knowledge of MGA/TPA relationships.
Confidence in coverage evaluation and reserving.
Negotiation and settlement skills.
Knowledge of General Liability, Construction Defect, Auto, and Garagekeepers coverage.
Role factors: Preferred candidates will be able to commute to an AXIS office; a hybrid work environment (3 days/week) is supported.
What we offer: Salary ranges vary by location, e.g., Alpharetta, GA: $90,000 - $130,000; Chicago, IL: $95,000 - $140,000; NJ: $104,000 - $138,700; NY: $108,500 - $145,000.
