Job Summary
The Material Handler 1 is responsible for loading, unloading, and conveying materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site. The role involves performing a variety of tasks under specific direction, which may include shipping and receiving duties. The position requires the use of hand tools and computer systems to track, log, and verify materials, while supporting overall warehouse or production operations.
Key Responsibilities Load and unload materials manually onto or from pallets, trays, multi-level racks, conveyors, machines, and trucks. Use hand tools to open containers and perform material sampling, counting, and weighing. Utilize computer systems to track, log, verify, and record material information accurately. Convey materials using wheelbarrows, hand trucks, forklifts, electric dollies, elevators, or other devices. Stack and assemble materials in an organized manner. Assist machine operators by lifting heavy objects by hand or using power hoists. Perform shipping and receiving tasks as assigned. Adhere to safety protocols and work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Prior warehouse or material handling experience. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
