$18 SCHEDULE:
Full-time with availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Shifts may vary depending on production schedules and cleaning requirements. Position Summary
The Sanitation Worker is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all processing equipment, machinery, work areas and production lines to ensure the facility meets regulatory requirements for hygiene and food safety in a seafood processing environment. This role is essential to maintaining product integrity and preventing contamination. Essential Functions / Responsibilities Clean and sanitize seafood processing equipment, tools, floors, and surfaces according to established procedures and sanitation schedules Handle and apply cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with company guidelines and OSHA standards Follow all food safety protocols, including HACCP and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) Remove and properly dispose of waste and byproducts from seafood processing operations Operate sanitation equipment such as high-pressure hoses, foamers, and floor scrubbers Maintain accurate sanitation logs and complete checklists and inspections forms Notify supervisors of equipment issues, pest sightings, or safety hazards Wear always required personal protective equipment (PPE) Support audits and inspections by regulatory health authorities
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred Prior experience in sanitation, preferably in seafood or food processing Ability to work in wet, cold and humid environments for extended periods of time Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and work in confined spaces. Operate pallet jack. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols Knowledge of PPE and safety practices
