Business Systems Analyst

to join our Technology Services Division (TSD)! In this role, youll partner with a dynamic team to support the technologies that keep our library staff connected and our digital resources running smoothly. Youll also play a part in supporting public-facing technologiesdirectly contributing to PWPLs mission and strategic goals by enhancing the library experience for both staff and patrons. The ideal candidate is not just tech-savvy but also a problem solver with a knack for implementing, deploying, and troubleshooting applications and hardware. As a Business Systems Analyst, youll collaborate closely with colleagues, take direction from a Senior Business Systems Analyst, and receive high-level guidance from the Technology Services Division Chiefall while helping to deliver outstanding service across the system. Reporting to one of the two Senior Business Systems Analysts and being one of four Business Systems Analysts, your role will be to provide support for technologies utilized by the public and advanced support for technologies utilized by library staff. Your role will include picking up or being assigned Help Desk Request Tickets and creating new tickets as necessary. On a day-to-day basis, you will be working closely with library personnel as well as various County departments/agencies. Technology Support:

Implementing, deploying and troubleshooting software and hardware utilized by the library department with a focus on managing technologies utilized by library staff. This includes but is not limited to working with desktops, laptops, printers, copiers and mobile devices (iPads) plus various applications such as the Integrated Library System (ILS) and all electronic resources offered via the Digital Library. Troubleshooting and providing Tier 1 and/or 2 support on technologies utilized by the public at assigned primary and secondary sites. Attending training and fostering professional development. Tier 2, Tier 3 Support:

Serving as the system administrator for several applications, providing Tier 2 to Tier 3 support. This includes the library mobile app, room reservations and program registration software. Managing the various configurations of the supported applications and leading efforts with upgrades as new versions become available. This includes testing and providing documentation for new functionalities and bug fixes. Assisting with maintaining SIP2 or other connection methods of 3rd party systems/applications authenticating with the ILS. Existing System Analysis and New Technologies:

Assisting in analyzing processes to improve business workflow and recommending solutions based on user requirements. Assessing technology purchase requests as needed. Evaluating whitelist/exempt requests on the staff network. Preparing user documentation and providing end-user training. Technology Refreshes and Inventory:

Managing, maintaining, and controlling all library IT assets both hardware and software. Tracking all assets following TSD and DoIT guidelines. Coordinating with DoIT on all equipment refreshes and software upgrades/updates. Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D. and four (4) years of professional progressive IT experience. Preferences

Experience supporting technologies in a public library or utilized by the public is preferred. Knowledge and experience managing library-specific technologies such as an integrated Library System (ILS) plus authentication and maintenance of 3rd party systems connected to the ILS. Candidates with proficiency in creating technical documentation, experience with application support, configuration and maintenance of COTS applications are advantageous. Special Requirements

The position requires travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business. Work Schedule

This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week exempt position located at the Administrative Support Center. Office hours are usually between 8 a.m. 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. However, this position will typically be on-call after normal office hours, including weekends, once every four weeks and available while library branches are open in case of emergency situations. There will be potential consideration for remote work based on operational demands. Salary & Benefits
