General Summary of Position
MedStar Health is seeking a
Radiology Technologist
to join our MedStar Health Urgent Care team.
As a Radiology Technologist, you will perform clinical and administrative duties in MedStar Health settings consistent with policies & procedures. You will work under the supervision of a physician and perform patient intake, standing orders or protocols, venipuncture, laboratory testing, and patient follow-up. Additionally, you may administer oral, IM, SC, or intradermal medications when ordered by a provider, after demonstrating competency to the Clinical Professional Development Specialist or designee. Certified Clinical Care Specialists (CCSs) as Radiologic Technologists also perform and transmit X-ray diagnostic images. This position involves documenting appropriately in the medical record and supporting optimal patient flow.

Primary Duties:
Adhere to MedStar Health's Code of Conduct and Compliance plan; comply with governmental and accreditation guidelines, complete scheduled training including safety, infection control, OSHA, CPR, EMR, general compliance, harassment, and service. Clean, stock, sterilize equipment, and prepare patient rooms, delivering care with high regard for safety and quality.
Embrace new technology and electronic health records. Manage patient flow with communication, perform testing (spirometry/PFTs, vitals, BMI, EKGs, vision/hearing tests, splinting, and general care) under supervision, and perform patient follow-up calls.
Perform venipuncture, point-of-care testing, and x-rays as ordered. Maintain equipment and adhere to safety standards. Communicate professionally and promote respect towards patients, families, vendors, and co-workers.
Provide care aligned with MedStar’s mission and values, support patient discharge, and participate in clinical and service improvements.
Support team members during downtime, assist with patient intake, and support medical providers in examinations, testing, and education. Under supervision, prepare and administer medications and injections (intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular) after demonstrating competency.
Qualifications:
Associate degree and completion of an approved Radiology Technologist program.
ARRT certification required.
Maryland, Virginia, or DC state license required.
Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting preferred.
Two years of medical office experience preferred.
BLS certification required.
