General Summary of Position

MedStar Health is looking for a Radiology Technologist to join our Urgent Care team. This position offers a limited‑time $10,000 sign‑on bonus. As a Radiology Technologist, you will perform clinical and administrative duties under physician supervision, including patient intake, venipuncture, laboratory testing, medication administration, and X‑ray imaging. You will also support patient flow and quality of care throughout the department. Primary Duties

Float to other MedStar Health sites and perform all duties at multiple entities. Adhere to MedStar Health Code of Conduct, compliance plans, and all scheduled training (safety, infection control, OSHA, CPR, EMR, compliance, harassment, service). Clean, stock, sterilize equipment and prepare patient rooms. Deliver patient care consistent with policy, safety, and quality standards. Embrace new technology and use the electronic health record. Manage patient flow and communicate with patients/families to respect their time and comfort. Perform testing and care consistent with the scope of practice, including spirometry/PFTs, vitals/BMI, EKGs, vision/hearing tests, splinting, and general patient care under medical provider supervision. Follow up lab tests and clinical results professionally. Perform venipuncture and selected patient and laboratory testing (point of care). Initiate care pathways. Perform X‑rays per provider orders and forward images for overreads. Maintain X‑ray equipment and adhere to safety standards. Promote respect toward patients, families, vendors, employers, and coworkers. Communicate professionally. Provide care that aligns with MedStar’s mission, vision, and values, exceeding patient expectations. Serve as a patient escort and assist in patient discharge, ensuring clarity for the patient or family member(s). Support new clinical and service initiatives; seek opportunities to improve care and the patient experience. Support other team members during downtime or bottlenecks in patient processing. Understand and participate in basic computer and patient intake skills at the front desk. Support the medical provider in examination, testing, and education. Under provider supervision, prepare and administer oral medications and injections limited to intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular after demonstrating competency to the Clinical Professional Development Specialist or designee. Qualifications

Associate degree. Completion of an approved R.T. program. Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting. Two years of medical office experience preferred. ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) Certification. Maryland, Virginia, or DC State License. BLS (Basic Life Support). This position has a hiring range of $29.15 – $51.68 per hour.
