Patient Access Representative

serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a warm welcome in person. You will manage the standard registration process by gathering demographic and financial information, entering details into an electronic medical record. Location:

800 E 28th St, Minneapolis, MN 55407 Key Responsibilities: Greet and welcome patients in a friendly manner Collect demographic and insurance information efficiently Assist in checking in and interviewing patients to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed Guide patients to their appointments or procedures Help in scheduling additional appointments as required Document any issues and resolutions in the electronic medical record Address claim issues or registration errors related to patient accounts Utilize tools and procedures to fulfill registration duties Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, especially in complex billing scenarios Provide cost information to patients and answer financial assistance inquiries Screen and approve patients for appropriate financial assistance programs Support patients with the application process for financial assistance Offer guidance and support to fellow employees as needed Assist patients in completing information request forms and submit them to the relevant department Obtain necessary signatures from patients Gather medical record information when required Provide excellent customer service for both inbound and outbound calls Mentor other staff members when appropriate Perform other related duties as assigned You will be recognized for your contributions in a dynamic environment that challenges you and provides clear guidance on how to succeed in your role, with additional opportunities for career advancement. Required Qualifications: At least 6 months of customer service experience in healthcare, retail, food service, banking, call centers, or other customer-focused settings Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Willingness to work standard daytime hours for the first 3 weeks after hiring to align with the training schedule Availability to work an average of 36 hours a week from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, based on a rotating biweekly schedule: Week 1: Monday, Friday & Saturday Week 2: Sunday, Monday, Wednesday & Thursday Must be at least 18 years of age Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Revenue Cycle General office experience Familiarity with Epic software Physical Demands: Regular walking, standing, bending, and turning movements Ability to lift weights up to 10 lbs occasionally, and 2-5 lbs frequently *Important Note:* The sign-on bonus is exclusively for external candidates. Compensation will be determined by various factors including local labor markets, experience, education, and certifications.
