Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious
Heavy Equipment Operator
to join our construction team. The operator will be responsible for handling a variety of heavy machinery used in the construction, maintenance, and repair of buildings, roads, and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with multiple types of equipment, a solid understanding of job site safety, and the ability to work effectively with team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate heavy machinery including, but not limited to:
Excavators
Bulldozers
Backhoes
Front-end loaders
Graders
Skid steers
Compact rollers
Cranes (if certified)
Perform pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment functionality and safety.
Load and unload materials from trucks and other equipment.
Work closely with site supervisors, engineers, and other crew members to complete projects on time.
Make minor repairs or adjustments to equipment as needed.
Keep the job site clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Assist with general construction tasks as assigned “sweeping, shoveling, trash etc..”
Qualifications:
Proven experience operating a variety of heavy construction equipment.
Solid understanding of machine maintenance and safety procedures.
Physical stamina to work outdoors in variable conditions and lift heavy materials.
Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members.
Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience on large-scale infrastructure or roadwork projects.
Familiarity with GPS or grade control systems on machinery.
