Deli Counter Staff

Job Summary Slice, package, weigh, and sell various deli products. Maintain the presentation and cleanliness of the deli, including display cases. Provide assistance to customers in the deli department. Key Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service. Answer questions, recommend deli items, and assist with special orders. Slice, package, and weigh deli products. Help customers select products and prepare special orders. Receive and inspect deli shipments. Stock, rotate, and store deli products following food safety and freshness policies. Ensure all products are fresh and meet quality standards. Check for out-of-date products and follow salvage policies. Operate and handle deli equipment according to safety procedures. Clean and sanitize deli equipment and food surfaces. Ensure scale systems are accurate. Maintain all company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed. Qualifications Prior experience in a deli department preferred. Experience operating manual/power slicers and scales preferred. Knowledge of deli products preferred. Must be at least 18 years old. Job Conditions Most of the time is spent moving about frequently on hard surfaces. Occasional lifting of objects up to 30 pounds and exposure to temperature extremes and cleaning agents.
