Overview
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products meet all quality requirements.
Responsibilities
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for conducting visual and mechanical inspections of products, ranging from raw castings to plated/painted products.
Tasks
First Piece Inspection – visual and mechanical inspection of first piece samples from casting and secondary operations.
In-Process / Roving Inspection – visual inspection at machine centers during casting and secondary operations, visual and mechanical inspection within Quality during casting and secondary operations.
Final Inspection – visual and mechanical inspection of finished product.
Entry of variable data into the SPC program for a product that requires statistical analysis.
Generate, maintain, and file required quality records and forms as necessary.
Assist with the general operation of the department
Enforce QA-related policies and procedures as specified by the Quality Assurance Manager.
Maintain the QA facility in an orderly manner, storing all equipment and retained samples in their designated locations.
9. Perform other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Quality Assurance Manager or Lead Inspector.
Experience
Should have experience in quality systems and maintenance, casting production processes, and secondary operations.
Education
Should have a high school diploma, Quality systems training, ISO trainin,g or an equivalent amount of experience. Knowing the use of standard measuring equipment, such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and optical comparators. Must also be able to interpret product drawings and read and write in the English .
