ABOUT THE ORLEANS PARISH DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S Office (OPDA)
Under the leadership of District Attorney Jason Rogers Williams, the Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office (OPDA) represents the State of Louisiana in criminal matters before courts with jurisdiction in Orleans Parish. It is the mission of OPDA to increase public safety through the ethical, consistent, and zealous enforcement of the law.
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for creating and maintaining organized systems for the prosecution team on a special class of major criminal cases, ensuring consistency, effective case preparation and presentation, and tracking key metrics while also empowering survivors to promote healing and closure.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitates effective case processing, developing and maintaining systems to track the status of cases, maintain case data/statistics, prepare and update case files for prosecution, coordinate with community partners, and connect victims/witnesses with appropriate community resources
Creates and maintains case inventory
Ensures proper data tracking, generating monthly and quarterly reports
Participate in regular meetings with internal prosecution team as well as external partners
Coordinate regular case review meetings, track next steps, and ensure orderly progression of cases
Assist in securing the presence of witnesses, experts, and law enforcement for court proceedings
Assist in preparing victims/witnesses for court proceedings
Coordinate with local service providers to make local resources available to crime victims and witnesses
Other related duties as needed/requested
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Ability to work flexible hours, including some weeks over 40 hours
Ability to thrive in a team environment
Comfort with technology, ability to learn case management software and related systems
Commitment to seeking justice for crime victims and their families
Understanding of criminal legal system process
Knowledge of medical terms, DNA, and other forensic disciplines
Social work background, experience working with victims

Full-time, salaried
SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary commensurate with qualifications/experience. New hires may be eligible for:
