About the Role:
The Benefits Administrator plays a critical role in managing and overseeing the comprehensive employee benefits programs within our construction company based in Fort Lauderdale. This position ensures the effective administration of benefit plans including health insurance, pension plans, workers' compensation, and long-term disability, aligning with company policies and regulatory requirements. The role involves coordinating leave of absence programs such as Family Medical Leave, ensuring compliance and smooth claims resolution processes. The Benefits Administrator acts as a liaison between employees, insurance providers, and regulatory bodies to facilitate clear communication and timely issue resolution. Ultimately, this position contributes to employee satisfaction and retention by maintaining accurate benefits records and delivering exceptional service and support.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration, preferably within the construction or related industry. Strong knowledge of benefit plans, workers' compensation, leave of absence laws, and pension plan administration. Familiarity with Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) regulations and claims resolution processes. Proficiency in benefits administration software and Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certification such as Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP. Experience working in a unionized environment or with affirmative action compliance. Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws affecting benefits administration. Experience with benefits administration systems specific to the construction industry. Strong analytical skills and experience with benefits data reporting and metrics. Responsibilities:
