Job Title: Sterile Processing Tech
Location: Grand Junction, CO 81501
Job Duration: 3+ Months (Possibilities of extension)
Shift: 5 Days x 8 hrs. (3 PM - 11:30) Schedule options : Sun to Thu / Mon to Fri
Pay Range: Local: $33/hr. | Travel: $1600/weekly
Job Summary:
Responsible for assembling, cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and storing procedure trays, surgical trays, and equipment. Assembles, distributes, and delivers disposable and durable medical equipment, case carts, and supplies to Operating Room, Nursing Units, Ancillary Departments, and Client Clinics. Operates and monitors sterilization equipment. Disassembles carts and follows Universal Precautions for decontamination. Sterilizes and disinfects durable medical equipment and instruments, packages clean supplies and instruments, maintains records, and transports sterilized items to the floor. Assembles sterilized instruments and rechecks for cleanliness and impairment; properly checks power equipment. Ensures easy instrument tracking through labeling, engraving, and documentation of missing instruments and replaced implants. Communicates inventory status with Central Processing staff and Surgery Charge Nurse, including order status, backorders, and changes. Responds to emergencies by ensuring proper supply and timely delivery of emergency, trauma, and add-on cases to the Operating Room. Utilizes technology and applications for accurate record-keeping per State and Federal regulations. Provides on-the-job training (OJT) to new department associates. Promotes Client Health's mission, vision, and values; adheres to service behavior standards. Performs other assigned duties. May be required to work overtime, float to other departments (based on competency and qualifications), or be on-call during scheduled shifts.

Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily. Requirements reflect necessary knowledge, skills, education, training, licensure, experience, and abilities. Effective and diplomatic communication within a multifunctional team. Experience with computers and ability to learn Sterile Processing software. Ability to work in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment, including nights and weekends.
