We are a leader in the industry and seeking a skilled Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist for our growing team. This individual will be responsible for performing a variety of duties related to reviewing, tracking, and recording expenses. Assist with monthly sales tax filing preparation and maintaining accurate records. Job qualifications include being detail-oriented, motivated, and having accounting experience. Successful candidates must possess the ability to learn new tasks quickly.

Located in Commerce City, CO

Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable invoices and ensure accurate and timely payments
  • Review and verify invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports
  • Match invoices with supporting documentation and obtain proper approvals
  • Enter invoices into the accounting system and code them to the appropriate general ledger accounts
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies
  • Prepare and process weekly check runs or electronic payments
  • Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions
  • Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
  • Other office duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Technical accounting knowledge and understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Sage100 and Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Experience with account reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation
  • Knowledge of governmental accounting is a plus
  • Ability to perform 10-key typing with speed and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
