Description: Looking for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) who is willing to work five days a week from 08:00 to 16:30. Guaranteed 40 hours per week with every fourth weekend required. General procedures include acute care, including medical, surgical, orthopedics, neurological, neurosurgery, cardiac, and critical care. There is an Acute Rehabilitation Facility where the average length of stay is around two weeks. The setting has a high percentage of stroke cases. Skills needed include experience with above-knee prosthetics, below-knee prosthetics, cardiac rehabilitation, CVA rehabilitation, and various orthopedic procedures. Experience in patient and family education, safety and injury prevention, and discharge planning is also necessary. Daily patient demographics include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Expected daily census is approximately 140 with an estimated 12 visits per day. Types of patient diagnoses include general medical, surgical, neurological, orthopedic, medical oncology, telemetry, and cardiovascular thoracic cases. Special procedures involve general acute care including critical and cardiac care. Preferred skills include experience with ceiling lifts, floor-based lifts, floor-based stand-assist devices, and Hovermatt. Working in this role may require holiday coverage as needed. Travelers must comply with all state requirements, including fingerprinting and vaccinations.
